Artist Bio

My name is Jonathan peh, I am a multi-disciplinary artist and design I am a simple down to earth person in life, easy-going, love life and all things artistic and human-centred. Interested in learning and upgrading new skills and knowledge, that covers Human-centric behaviour and attitude. I also spent a lot of time travelling to different countries to gain a wider perspective on life.

My art and design journey started out with the immersion of semiotic theory and the understanding of sign reading.  

I also created a series of artworks that are based on semiotic theory utilizing ink medium and mark-making methods to create atmospheric tensed artworks that play with layered patterns. Focusing on the rotational symmetry of organic forms and distinct patterns to depict the fragility and ephemerality of life.

Drawing and design have been part of my daily practice. Drawing helps me to express my inner desire. I personally feel that all people are born with the ability to imagine and create because it is that primal essence of being a child again, that allow us to live an even more fruitful life. My interest in design started with the pursuit of research and studies of human-centric behaviour and understanding their needs as a consumer and user. They serve as a guideline for creator's such as myself to reflect on their needs and problems that they have as a user in their personal life. By empathizing and looking through their perspective, I was able to gain a better understanding of their frustrations and issues. Thus, this allows me to gather research data and findings to structure a solution that will solve their problems and needs. Which enables me to create a design with the best possible feature and function that fit their requirements and needs, furthermore improving their life.
